Title Sequence Analysis

One of the nine ways Napoleon Dynamite sets up the genre, story and creates meaning is in the fourth scene
the one with the wallet and where the music starts. This sets up the genre by showing you one of the characters student card showing that they must be in some form of education And this being the first name to show up and image of a character shows that this must be the protagonist (main character) as you can see for his image he dressed up like a stereotypical nerd or geek meaning he must not be popular. And to show off that he is a nerd they have him have something that looks like a membership card for a club or something and this club is based on aliens which is pretty geeky. The slow but nice and cheerful music in the background tells us that it is a nice family movie.

In the seventh scene there are shown to be some nachos which are normally seen as party food and mostly the popular people are the ones that throw the parties. This means that there are some popular teens in this movie they could potentially be jocks, setting this movie in a high school mostly.

In the eight scene it shows a school dinner plate being settled down which shows that I will be set in a high school and because of the brown paper bag portrayed as lunch bag in scene nine shows that this film is set in America. The lack of food in the bag shows that it must have been packed by school student.

The shuriken in scene ten, drawings in scene 15 show the kind of geeky things our main character is in he likes the heroes and things to do with quests. But the.

Books in scene eleven also suggest that his not just into geek culture but he is also smart as well. The title scene tell us so much or makes us guess what the movie is about without even anyone speaking in it and that is what make a good title sequence.
