This is Drama, Mystery/Thriller which takes a very classic
detective Noir feel to it the usual thing about this though is that it is not
set in a neighbourhood but mostly at a school. It’s about a lonely teenaged boy
named Brenden who gets call from his ex-girlfriend that she needs help leaving
clues along with her knowing that she might end up dead this results in her
being killed and Brenden needing to find out who did it with the help of his
intelligent friend Brain and plot a revenge plan to get the killer arrested.
Brenden ends up getting into a a group of drug lords who go to the same school
and he has to play it out smart and find more and more clues as to who killed
Emily his ex and why.
The movie is done really great it keeps the audience engaged
with how important everything on screen is it feels like if you miss one thing
then you won’t get the rest and how things are put together. Most of it is all
a big enigma code though some questions don't get answered. The dialogue of
this film relies on quite a lot of slang so sometimes I just don't get what the
characters are saying to one another. It has a very weird style to it though,
like i said it is set in high school with everyone being teenagers apart for
two characters with it sort of being a crime, Mystery, Drama, Thriller it all somehow
fits well I don't how but it just does it makes the characters feel like adults
but still show that they are teens at the same time. For example in this one
scene The Pin who is one of the main drug lords talks about how he loved the
Hobbit books and how they make him feel also there was a scene where Brenden
and Tug where in the Pins house who of which lives with his mum and they were
having milk and cookies.
There are a few plot twists in this movie. You find out that
Emily was pregnant with maybe Brenden's baby and the reason she had died was
because of Laura who was the other girl was in love with Brenden or just
manipulating him. That is the thing about this movie there where quite a few
questions left to be answered and that is how it kept me watching it
I give this movie's plot twist 7/10
